- Need warm coats to survive the harsh winter - Smaller mammals include: wolverine, mink, ermine, sable, snowshoe hare, beaver, and vole - Larger herbivores include: reindeer, elk, and moose - Carnivores include: bear, lynx, wolf, and Siberian tiger BIRDS - Some eat insects and migrate South during the winter - Year-round seed-eaters include finches and sparrows - Carnivores include: ravens, owls, and eagles FISH - Few include: lake trout, pike, and whitefish AMPHIBIANS - Wood frog: freezes during the winter INSECTS - Abundant during the summer - Include mosquitoes, moths, butterflies, and beetles |
